Seghir was also known for his work as a racing team owner. He founded the Team Lotus and raced with it from 1979 until 1985. He then went on to start the Brabham Racing Organisation, which he ran until 1996.
Seghir was a respected figure in the world of motorsport and was involved in many charitable causes. He was a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering and was also a patron of the charity MotorSport Vision.
